AEDPA (28 U.S.C. sec 2244(d)(1)) requires that a habeas petition be filed within one year of the finality of the state court judgment, even if that state has a statute of limitations for habeas petitions longer than one year, and the one-year limit does not violate the Suspension Clause of the Federal Constitution.
