A condition of probation was impermissible where it allowed the probation department to impose electronic monitoring on a juvenile for any reason without a judicial hearing. The electronic monitoring of wards of the juvenile court is a highly restrictive form of supervision and a significant aspect of the court’s legal control of the minor. Thus, a probation condition that allowed the probation department to impose or remove electronic monitoring for any reason with 48 hours’ notice to all counsel but without a judicial hearing was an impermissible delegation of the juvenile court’s authority, lacked necessary due process protections, and was impermissibly vague.
