After the prosecutor peremptorily challenged the only two African-Americans on the panel, the prosecutor gave only vague and unsupported reasons for his challenges. The trial court failed to make any inquiry into the explanations, and made no findings regarding whether they were genuine. The court’s failure to do so, which resulted in the failure to create a record which could be intelligently considered on appeal, required reversal.
