Name: People v. Lewis
Case #: S018665
Court: CA Supreme Court
District CalSup
Opinion Date: 05/17/2001
Subsequent History: Rehg. den. 6/27/01
Summary

Prospective jurors should have been sworn under Code of Civil Procedure section 232 before filling out written questionnaires. But the error was harmless, because there was no suggestion the jurors took the obligation to tell the truth in their written answers (which were under penalty of perjury) any less seriously than in their oral answers during voir dire.
