A hit and run collision which injured four persons constituted only one violation of Vehicle Code section 20001. Appellant fled the scene of an accident involving two other cars and injuries to four persons. The felony complaint alleged four separate violations of Vehicle Code section 20001 (felony hit and run), one for each victim. Over objection of the prosecutor, the trial court granted appellant’s motion to consolidate the four counts into a single count. The prosecution appealed, and the appellate court agreed with the trial court that there was only a single violation. When an accident results in injury to more than one person, and the person causing the accident flees the scene, there is a single violation of section 20001.
