The police next sought a warrant for the residence, which they used to search outbuildings that were up to 100 feet away from the residence. They found marijuana plants. The warrant was challenged on three grounds: 1) deliberate falsehood in the affidavits; 2) fruit of the poisonous tree; and 3) search beyond the scope of the warrant.
