In this appeal from the trial court’s denial of appellant’s petition resentencing following an evidentiary hearing under Penal Code section 1172.6, subdivision (d), the Court of Appeal held that reconsideration was required in light of the California Supreme Court’s intervening decision in People v. Collins (2025) 17 Cal.5th 293, which addressed a similar set of facts.
