The Court of Appeal agreed with the parties that the 25-years-to-life sentences on three of appellant’s counts violate constitutional prohibitions on ex post facto laws because the offenses occurred prior to the effective date of the statute under which they were imposed (Pen. Code, § 667.61, subd. (j)(2)). The court modified the sentences to 15-years-to-life.
