Pursuant to California Rules of Court, Rule 8.70 and Rule 8.71, all Courts of Appeal and some Supreme Court filings in Civil, Criminal, Juvenile and Original proceedings must be made through TrueFiling, the Courts’ electronic filing system. All appointed attorneys are obligated to become registered users, which includes obtaining a TrueFiling user ID and password. All electronic filings may be electronically served.

Filings in the California Supreme Court have different requirements than the Courts of Appeal. Official court correspondence and notifications, including letters and orders, will be still be sent to all parties via regular postal mail only.
