Prior approval for translator services must be obtained for appointed case in both the Third and Fifth District Courts of Appeal. CCAP is authorized to process translator requests that do not exceed $300 for both courts. Details on obtaining preauthorization can be found on the Preauthorization Procedures page.

CCAP cannot recommend or vouch for the work of particular translators. Appellate counsel may want to try searching for a translator on the California Courts’ website where the Judicial Council maintains a list of certified and registered interpreters who are in good standing with the courts.
