Below is a collection of Laotian letters to advise a client of the most common steps in the appellate process. In each sample, an English translation is included for reference before the Laotian translation.
The sample letters were drafted as generically as possible to describe routine milestone events in a normal appeal, and are not intended to provide specific legal advice. CCAP is providing this resource with the hope that any approved interpreter funds can be reserved for advising the client about case specifics.
Sample documents are available in Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat format; because of conversion problems, WordPerfect is not available. Choose which format you would like to download and that file will open in a new window.
Use tip : Because of the scripts used in writing Laotian, these translations are only legible using a non-standard software font. In order for these letters to print correctly, you will need to download the Saysettha font here.
